PERSONAL DATA PROCESSED
Browsing data.
WHAT ARE COOKIES
Cookies are data created by a server and stored in a text file on the hard drive of the computer or device (smartphone, tablet) used to access the Internet. They collect information about browsing of the website by the user.
Cookies may be stored on the computer permanently or for a variable period (so-called persistent cookies), but they can also be erased when the browser is closed or have a limited duration (so-called session cookies).
Cookies may installed by the website visited (first-party cookies) or by other websites (third-party cookies).
HOW WE USE COOKIES
- Technical cookies
- Session/browsing cookies: The use of session cookies (not stored on the computer of the user for an extended period and erased when the browser is closed) is limited strictly to the transmission of session identifiers (random numbers generated by the server) needed to allow safe and efficient browsing of the website and its applications. The use of session cookies on the website avoids recourse to other IT techniques that might jeopardize the confidentiality of browsing by users. They do not allow the personal identification data of users to be acquired. No consent is needed for their use.
- Persistent cookies: these remain on the device after the website has been left, until deleted by the user or their expiry date is reached. The website creates this type of cookie and stores them on the device so that they can be read when the user makes a return visit. This means, for example, that registered users can be remembered and preference settings can be found when subsequent visits are made. No consent is needed for their use.
- Analytics cookies: these are installed to collect aggregated information, mostly of a statistical nature (time spent on a webpage, number of visitors to the website, etc.).
- First-party analytics cookies: these are similar to technical cookies, in that they are installed directly by the website visited in order to enhance its usability. No consent is needed for their use.
- Third-party analytics cookies: these are created and installed by third parties in order to analyze browsing by users, prepare statistics about visits, improve website content, display similar products and, sometimes, position targeted advertising on webpages. The system used is Google Analytics, which is a web analysis service provided by Google LLC ("Google"). Like other systems, Google Analytics uses cookies to enable the website to analyze its usage. The information generated by cookies about the website usage of each user (including masked IP address) is sent to and store on Google servers in the United States. Google uses this information to track and analyze usage of the website, prepare reports on website activity and provide other services relating to usage of the Internet. Google may also transfer this information to third parties when required by law, or if they process it on behalf of Google. Google does not associate the IP address of the user with any other data held by Google. In all cases, users may refuse the installation of these cookies by selecting the appropriate browser settings, although this might prevent the use of certain website functionality. Since the IP address is masked, the use of these cookies does not require consent.
- Profiling cookies: these are used to track the browsing activities of users and create profiles covering their tastes, habits, choices, etc. Profiling cookies can be used to send targeted advertising to the devices of users, consistent with the preferences expressed by them while browsing online.
- Third-party profiling cookies: these are created and installed by third parties in order to track the browsing activities of users and create profiles covering their tastes, habits, choices, etc. Such cookies are administered by the third-party companies concerned.
MANAGEMENT OF COOKIE PREFERENCES
Consent for the use of cookies is given by clicking on the “Accept” button embedded in the information banner that is displayed when the user visits the website.
MANAGEMENT OF COOKIE PREFERENCES
The initial configuration of most Internet browsers accepts cookies automatically. However, users are able - at any time - to set their browsers to accept all or only some cookies, or to refuse them, thus preventing websites from using them. In addition, users can usually set their browser preferences to display a warning whenever a cookie is stored on the computer. Lastly in this regard, users can delete cookies from their hard drives at the end of each browsing session. Users wishing to delete cookies installed in the cookie folders of their browsers should note that each browser has different procedures for the management of settings.
