Gas mixtures for emissions testing
SIAD supplies all classes of automotive gas mixtures. Under national and European legislation, vehicle engine emissions have to be regularly measured in accordance with rigorous standards. This legislation therefore requires emissions testers and research engineers to use very high purity gases and highly accurate calibration gas mixtures that not only have to meet these standard product requirements, but must also have to be certified and metrologically traceable back to a reference. These mixtures typically contain certain components such as carbon oxide (CO), nitrogen oxide (NO), carbon dioxide (CO2), oxygen (O2) and hydrocarbons such as methane or propane.
Mixtures for the automotive industry
The certified gas mixtures supplied by SIAD are used for the analysis and monitoring of pollutants emitted by petrol, diesel and gas engines, as well as by auxiliary systems. They are used to calibrate various types of analyzers designed for use in engine test chambers that accurately simulate the environmental conditions in which the product operates, in order to verify its performance and its compliance with regulatory limits on emissions.
