Problems cost you more than you think

Calibration gases without certified accuracy or documented traceability introduce systematic errors that propagate through your data. Instrument validation, method performance, final reports - everything downstream inherits a margin of doubt you can't quantify or justify.

Regulatory frameworks and accreditation bodies require full traceability of calibration standards to international references. If your current gas mixtures don't come with the right metrological documentation, non-conformities during audits become a matter of when, not if - putting certifications, contracts and operational continuity on the line.

The more specific your requirements - multi-component blends at ppm or ppb level, reactive compounds, uncommon matrices - the harder it becomes to find a supplier with both the preparation capability and the analytical infrastructure to certify the result.

Every wrong specification, unstable concentration or delayed delivery means instruments sitting idle, analyses to be repeated, and timelines missed. In regulated environments, rework isn't just an operational cost: it puts your credibility on the line with clients, auditors and internal stakeholders.

Accuracy engineered at the source

Perfecta operates within SIAD's metrological laboratory - accredited under ISO/IEC 17025 for the calibration of gas mixtures and under ISO 17034 for the production of Certified Reference Materials. The laboratory is equipped to prepare mixtures gravimetrically according to ISO 6142 and to verify them analytically per ISO 6143, providing a documented traceability chain to international metrological standards.

Full traceability, ready before the auditor asks

The SIAD laboratory holds LAT Calibration Centre and Reference Material Producer accreditation (No. 00223), recognised within the international mutual recognition framework. This means calibration and certification activities are performed under a quality system subject to periodic assessment by the national accreditation body - providing a level of institutional oversight that supports your own compliance and audit processes.

Technical depth for the most demanding specifications

The SIAD laboratory works with over 400 different compounds and can prepare multi-component blends containing up to 135 gases - including reactive species at ppm and ppb concentrations. This breadth of capability means your requirements can be addressed by a single qualified laboratory, regardless of complexity.

A heritage that few labs in Europe can match

SIAD's Specialty Gases Laboratory has been operating since the 1960s, evolving from early manometric methods to advanced gravimetric preparation and state-of-the-art analytical verification. Over the decades, the laboratory has built deep expertise across gas families - from permanent gases to complex reactive matrices - becoming a recognised reference point for calibration mixtures in Italy and across international markets.

FAQ

Your request will be received directly by the Perfecta technical team: a specialist with metrological expertise will review your requirements and contact you as soon as possible. The first interaction will focus on understanding your specific application, measurement context and technical needs.

That's exactly what our free consultation is for. You don't need to have a complete specification or a detailed list of requirements before reaching out. Many of our conversations start with a general need - a measurement problem, a compliance question, an instrument to be calibrated - and our specialists will be happy to help you understand.

Accredited calibration gas mixtures are produced and certified under the supervision of a nationally recognised accreditation body, following international standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 (for calibration) and ISO 17034 (for reference material production). This means every step - from gravimetric preparation to analytical verification - is performed within a documented quality system. Non-accredited mixtures may be technically adequate for some applications, but they lack the institutional traceability chain required by regulated environments.

Perfecta calibration gas mixtures are used across a wide range of industries and technical applications, including:

  • Environmental monitoring: emission measurement, air quality control, stack gas analysis
  • Automotive: type-approval testing, emissions certification, exhaust gas analysis
  • Energy: natural gas metering, biogas and biomethane quality control, calorific value determination
  • Petrochemical: process gas calibration, refinery analytical control, product quality assurance
  • Forensic: breath alcohol measurement, ethanol reference standards for evidential instruments
  • Research and laboratory: method validation, instrument calibration, proficiency testing
